Agro Production

Sarazin is a farming community located between Mirebalais and Lascahobas
(Haiti). Francique mango, cocoa, banana, and plantain trees are cultivated in
the Sarazin area. At the moment Agro Production owns 18 "carraux de terre"* and
is in the process of buying 10 more.
On 89.32 acres of land, Agro Production will plant 10000 Francique mango trees
and 40000 plantain trees*. Agro Production will also lease land from local
farmers to plant 10000 additional Francique mongo trees. Farmers will be paid $5
for each Francique mango tree planted.
*"Carraux de terre": A unit of land area in Haiti, approximately 1.29
hectares = 3.19 acres = 12909.37 square meter (m²)

acres = 1,153,064.93 square meter (m²)
** Scientific name: Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana, a.k.a. "cooking bananas"
are native of South East Asia - Plantain trees were imported to Haiti by the
Spanish during the 1500s. They are hybrid of bananas.
